SBI Clerk Educational Qualification 2026
- Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
- Candidates having an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure that the date of passing is on or before the date prescribed in the notification.
- Candidates who are in the final year or final semester of graduation may also apply provisionally. However, if selected, they must submit proof of passing the graduation examination within the prescribed deadline.

The SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination will be conducted online and will consist of 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks. The exam will have three sections with a total duration of 1 hour. SBI Clerk Local Language Proficiency Test
Candidates who have not studied the specified local language in Class 10th or 12th will have to appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test after qualifying in the Main Examination. The language assessment includes:

Note: Candidates must achieve the prescribed qualifying marks to become eligible for appointment. Those who fail to qualify the language test will not be appointed.
SBI Clerk Final Selection 2026
- The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not included in the final merit calculation.
- After qualifying the Preliminary Examination, candidates appear for the Main Examination. The final merit list will be prepared using the marks obtained in the Main Examination.
- The merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise, and candidates will be considered for appointment according to their merit and the vacancies available in the State/UT for which they applied.
- Appointment will also depend upon successful verification of eligibility, documents, local language requirements wherever applicable, medical fitness and completion of other prescribed formalities.
SBI Clerk Salary 2026
The SBI Clerk Junior Associate post offers a starting Basic Pay of ₹26,730, including two advance increments for graduates. The pay scale is ₹24,050 to ₹64,480, with applicable Dearness Allowance and other allowances. The starting total emoluments are approximately ₹46,000 per month in a metropolitan centre, while the actual salary may vary depending on the place of posting.
SBI Clerk Probation Period
Candidates selected for the Junior Associate post will initially remain on probation for a minimum period of six months. During probation, newly recruited employees are required to complete the prescribed e-lessons. The probation period may be extended if the required lessons are not completed or if the employee's performance does not meet the Bank's expectations.
